QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
I am getting ready to spray my boat with alexseal jet black as a base and use there clear mixed with ZTA. What would the recommended mix be per gallon with a mix ratio of 1:1-1/2 paint, catalyst and reducer I see with different materials you have different mix ratios and this not being a automotive clear will thos change the ratio?
That sounds like a great project!
For ZTA, we would still recommend 50 grams per gallon of sprayable material (ready-to-spray), similar to an automotive clear system. Even though you’re using a marine clear instead of an automotive clear, the pigment load recommendation remains the same since it’s based on the total sprayable volume.
Keep in mind, the higher the pigment load, the more vibrant and intense the effect will be — but adding too much can affect flow and clarity.
We strongly recommend doing a small test panel first to dial in your exact ratio and confirm the effect before moving to full application on the boat.

Yes, you can.

I am thinking of getting this to mix for an accent wall in my bedroom is there any recommendations on how to achieve this and what ratio would you recommend
For an accent wall, use a black base to get the best color-changing effect. The mixing ratio depends on your chosen medium, so check the recommended ratios on our site for the best results!

I had used this with a 2k clear on a Motorcycle paintjob and it does not have the hypershift effect it just looks like olive green. Did I not use enough?
25 Grams Per Half Gallon (2 Quarts) is the standard mixing ratio of this pearl and it works best over a black base.
